| Furfural is produced from biomass containing pentose, a short 
                  chain sugar found in corn cobs, sugar cane bagasse, rice and 
                  oat hulls etc. 
 In China, Furfural is produced from corn cobs 
                  in the Northern Provinces. There are a number of small plants 
                  and also several large ones particularly in Shandong 
                  Province.
 
 Derived from a renewable resource, this versatile and utilitarian 
                  chemical is the building block for a number of specialty products 
                  which enhance our quality of life.
 
 Downstream products include Furfuryl Alcohol, Tetra Hydro Furfuryl 
                  Alcohol, Acetyl Furane, Furoic Acid, Methyl Furane and THF.
