Characteristics:
Furfural is a clear, colourless motile liquid. It has a characteristic
“Almond/Benzaldehyde” odour. When exposed to sunlight
in the presence of oxygen, it darkens to a dark red/brown colour.
Applications & Use:
Production of FA, THFA, THF. Selective solvent in lube oil and
other chemical refining. Used in the pharmaceutical, veterinary,
textile, and refining industries.
